Kvítkov is located around 6km south-west of Česká Lípa, in the direction of Úštěk.

The first record of the village dates back to 1295 in connection with Jan of Kvítkov. In 1938 the village became a part of Česká Lípa and was separated again in 1992.

At the west end of this typical old Czech village there are remains of Kvítkov Castle. South of the village there are the Holanské rybníky which mainly attract holidaymakers and lovers of water sports in summer. There are sandstone formations named Vřesoviště and Peklo close to the village.
