Blíževedly is located around 6km north-east of Úštěk, at the road between former Ronov and Hřídelík Castles.

Blíževedly ranks among rather old villages, it was built in the location of a prehistoric settlement. Most houses in the centre of the current village are Late Empire-style brick houses built after a fire in 1859. In 1714 a Baroque plague column of the Holy Trinity was erected in the square.

Blíževedly lies on the border of České středohoří and Máchův kraj. There are the Holandské rybníky (ponds) near the village; popular Máchovo jezero is a bit further away. The places mostly attract lovers of water sports in summer. České středohoří offers a wide selection of activities for hikers and lovers of nature.
