The Region of Liberec does not settle to winter sleep in the winter. Since winter in our region is primarily connected with skiing, lots of skiing events are organized there, such as cross-country skiing races or ski jump races. Apart from a wide selection of skiing facilities, you may also visit several traditional events in winter, in particular at the time before Christmas. You can visit the outdoor museum with Christmas decorations, enliven with folk traditions, or the castle in a festive mood and choose traditional products, which may be pleasant surprise for your loved ones. Visit the area around Kamenický Šenov 

Lusetian Mountains
Kamenický Šenov is a well-known glassmaking town, specialized in the manufacture of chandeliers. It lies in Northern Bohemia, west of Děčín. The town spreads in the valley among the hills of České středohoří and Lužické hory, surrounded by wooded hill slopes. There are two downhill courses with ski lifts near the town. The first one is at Prácheň and the second one is at Polevsko on the slope of Polevský vrch.

In Semilsko region we can recommend hike which is oriented on nature interests of the Bohemian Paradise Geopark. You can get by green line of seasonal tourist buses to Semily. From the square in the town of Semily you will follow red mark passing by the monuments of writers Antal Stašek and Ivan Olbracht to Bítouchov where you will be attracted by the preserved belfry. The red mark goes on through the valley of the Jizera river along Rieger´s path built-up in 1909.
 

Valley Labský Důl – the pearl of the Giant Mountains

The valley Labský Důl is one of the most beautiful and most frequented sites in the Giant Mountains. This 8 km long wild, rocky valley was washed out by the river Elbe right along the first kilometers of its upper reaches. After retreat of the glacier, there remained a moraine bank, which is in some places up to 20 meters high. In the middle part of the valley, the river Elbe flows through a narrow rocky bed over rocky sills, the final part of Valley Labský důl is formed by Labské jámy, which is enclosed by almost vertical rocky slopes, towering up to 200 meters.
