Liberec Region

Mácha Land is a romantic region to the south of the town Česká Lípa. It bears the name of the famous Czech poet K.H. Mácha who loved this part of the country. Some of his literary works take place here. The tourist center of this region, the lake Máchovo jezero, is surrounded by the hills of Ralská pahorkatina with some castle ruins. The most famous of these ruins are Bezděz and Ralsko.
