Bohemian Paradise
Length of routh: 7,5 km
Directly above the village, like a wall from formidable sandstone rocks, Vranovský hřeben is raising (Vranov ridge). On its top on the rocky ledge above the Jizera is the view point and the ruins of castle Vranov, which was rebuilt in the spirit of Romanticism as the Pantheon. Then we are going higher up to the ruins of Frýdštejn castle from the second half of the 14th century. It had been used in defensive role for 200 years, after that it was being steadily ruined. Again we will go uphill to the lookout tower Kopanina. Then we will return on the green trail through Bobov. While walking we will be able to marvel at beautiful views of Železný Brod region and ragged ridge of Suché skály (“Dry rocks”), called as Kantorovy varhany (Cantor´s organs) or České dolomity (Bohemian dolomiti). At the end we will get to the palace (it is not open to public) on the edge of Malá Skála and near the wayside shrine, then we will go down towards the river Jizera. Here we can take bath, or try our strength at the rope centre, or continue our journey on the water.
