Holany
The Holany village magistrate Michal Tietze, the father of nine children, was the most famous personality from the history of Holany.
He led a peasant uprising in the novozámecké (New Chateau) estate, for which he was executed in 1680 despite the pleas of his wife. The monument in memory of Michal Tietze dates from 1813 and stands behind the village of Holany along the road to Litice.
