The new fountain as well as the pillar of the Trinity and memorial of Josef I dominate the square in Trutnov. In the middle of the granite basin there is a huge block of rock with more than 2 m tall Krakonoš holding a pulled-out trunk with remnants of roots in his right hand.

The design of the Krakonoš fountain is by Josef Kirchner, a teacher at Trutnov technical secondary school.
