Audiovisual exposition of the Krkonošské Museum in Vrchlabí

Giant Mountains

The main building of the Krkonošské Museum in Vrchlabí in the Augustinian Monastery houses a modern audiovisual exposition called The Stone and The Life. It is a completely new concept of a museum exhibition, which brings into the traditional museum exposition a new dimension – representation of processes and relations among the elements of nature.

Different topics of the exposition describe the ecology and unique nature of the Giant Mountains National Park. The visitors can perceive the noises, ligth and scene – two-dimensional and three-dimensional pictures. The music and distinctive nosies of the elements accompany the commentary of the expositor. Individual parts of the exhibition rooms, display cases, models and exhibits are being lit simultaneously with the commentary, the visitors can enjoy transparent photographs and slide shows.

The exposition The Stone and The Life offers much more than a traditional static exhibiton. You can visit a model of a cave, an old mine adit and a mountain spring with plants, fish, birds and others animals. Another part of the exposition is a wide-screen film about the nature in The Giant Mountains.
