In Rokytnice nad Jizerou, the end of February usually sees a popular event called the Smuggler’s Weekend, which entails the traditional Congress of Smugglers. From Friday till Sunday one can enjoy a rewarding cultural programme, which includes a dramatic Carnival dance, a carnival parade, a traditional Krkonoše pig slaughter and demonstrations of crafts, as well as a sale of craft wares.
