The Festivities of Wallenstein are historical festivities associated with the Duke Albrecht of Wallenstein. The cultural programme which they offer is most rewarding. The festivities are most commonly held in the month of May every odd year in Frýdlant and every even year in Jičín. The festivities take place in a period marketplace, and are opened with the arrival of the equestrian Duke of Wallenstein with his retinue. An almost countless series of musical and drama performances is to be seen, as well as a torch-bearing procession which culminates in a fireworks display, and much more is available to interest and delight the visitor.
