The first record of the village dates back to 1419. In the original village square there is a chapel from 1840; in Budíkov you will find a sandstone statue of the Holy Trinity; in Benešovice an interesting farmstead has been preserved. In the northern part of the village the Malá Mohelka begins. It supplies water to a small pond and then creates a 12km-long picturesque valley.
There are very good conditions for recreation in the surroundings of the village. Plenty of hiking trails and cycle tracks lead from nearby Český Dub to Ještědský hřeben. The rich history of the region is documented in the expositions of the Podještědské Museum in Český Dub.
