The first note on the founding of the village dates back to 1401. The estate was owned by some well-known and famous families, such as Waldstein. Nowadays Svojek is primarily a holiday village. Mainly thanks to its location, Svojek is a good a starting point for excursions to winter resorts in Krkonoše, which may be reached within 30 minutes by car.
