The village also includes Mistrovice, a settlement mentioned already at the beginning of the 15th century. The village officially named Nový Oldřichov was formed in 1950 as a merger of the villages of Mistrovice and Oldřichov u České Lípy. In the 19th century glassmaking and finishing developed in the village.

Nowadays the biggest fire-fighting museum in the Czech Republic is located in Nový Oldřichov.
