The exact date of the founding of the village is not known, but the village belonged to Levín Castle, which was founded in 1239. The dominant feature of the village is the All Saints Church, which was first mentioned in the 14th century. In 1780 the originally Gothic church was reconstructed. There are 12 religious statues around the church; seven of them were created by artist Antonín Sucharda from Nová Paka.
Near the village, on the Levín and Kozinec hills semi-precious stones may be found. The occurrence of semi-precious stones and their reckless mining caused heavy damage to the ruin of the castle. Since 1998 celebrations of the castle's foundation are held in front of the castle.
