In the 17th century mountain villages were founded in the region. The history of Jiřetín pod Bukovou is more than 300 years old, but the exact year that the village was founded is not known. It is assumed that it was founded simultaneously with Albrechtice, i.e. in 1670.

Jiřetín pod Bukovou lies close to Jizerské hory and therefore offers various opportunities for winter and summer sports, hiking and cycling.
