The first notes on the village date back to 1600. A road to Upper Lusatia led through the region.

The village is a good starting point for hiking and cycling excursions to Český ráj, Jizerské hory or Podještědí. The closest cultural monument is Sychrov Castle. Lovers of beauties of nature may go to see the rock town of Hruboskalsko. In winter skiers may visit ski resorts in Jizerské hory or Krkonoše.
