The construction of the theatre was approved upon the initiative of the local amateur theatre company comprised of members of the management of the Mutual Savings Bank in Turnov, and it was implemented as a part of the construction of the bank's premises - today's Hotel Slávie. The entrance to the theatre led through the passage of the house, which corresponds to the design of the main front wall from the courtyard area, with atypical outdoor staircases.

The theatre's facilities include a small exhibition space and a theatre bar with the capacity of 28 seats.
