The first record of Jestřabí dates back to 1562. Some original houses that are typical examples of local rural architecture in the region of Jilemnice have been preserved in the village, for example house No. 21 with clinker.

Cyclists will find several good cycle tracks in the village and its surroundings, such as the cycle track leading from Jilemnice to Rokytnice nad Jizerou. Skiers will find good conditions for both cross-country skiing and downhill skiing in the surroundings of Jestřabí. A major part of the village is located in Krkonošský národní park and the rest of the village in its protective zone. Therefore you will find protected fauna and flora and very old trees there.
