The village lies at the foot of Maršovický kopec which, however, is vanishing gradually as a result of stone quarrying. The Baroque Church of St. George ranks among major monuments of Chlum.

There are good conditions for water sports in the environs of Chlum. Lovers of water sports may visit Máchovo jezero, a popular holiday resort located nearby, or Holanské rybníky located north of Chlum. The surrounding nature is ideal for hiking and cycle touring.
