The first written records of the village date back to 1352. Several historical monuments have been preserved in Brniště and adjacent villages up to now, such as St. Nicholas's Church, the Baroque entrance gate, cemetery chapel, chapel on Luhov and several cottages which are remains of the local rural architecture.
