It lies under the Lusetian Mountains in the basin of the Mandava river. The history of Varnsdorf goes back to the first half of the 13 th century. In 1849 a number of small villages united into the largest village in the Austrian and Hungarian Monarchy, and in 1868 it was declared a town.
