Originally it was a fortress surrounded by a water moat. The decorations come from e.g. M. B. Braun and Josef Navrátil. At present, there is a museum exposition from the Náprstek Museum dedicated to Asian culture and an exposition of musical instruments.

A part of the exposition is barrier-free. As for the gardens, there are precious tree species and decorative sculptures. In the rocks not far from the chateau you may come across interesting sculptures carved in the rock blocks by Václav Levý, local sculptor.

Since the flood of 2002 the chateau is being renovated.
