The Museum is located in the premises of the Zámeček chateau in Smržovka, on T.G. Masaryk Square. Albrecht Maxmilián, Count Des Fours, had the chateau built as a summer residence for members of the aristocracy.

The exposition of the Museum comprises period items, photographs and maps lent or donated by local inhabitants and friends of Smržovka. Its mission is to present the historical development of the town to its visitors, draw attention to sights and constructions of interest and commemorate significant personalities of Smržovka.

The exposition makes efforts to describe the development of the town and the life of its inhabitants in the historical context. Therefore, the exhibition also includes articles of daily use, sports equipment, etc. Of course, the local industry and culture are also represented here.

The exposition will be modified through making use of documents and exhibits that have not been on public display yet. Such modifications will be mostly executed on the occasions of local anniversaries and celebrations.
