Hvozd, also called Hochwald has been a popular tourist destination since the end of the 18th century. In 1821 it was visited by Ferdinand I, the Austrian emperor.

At present, there is a German tourist chalet on one of the two peaks of Hvozd, while on the other one a 25-metre-high lookout tower was built as early as in 1892. The chalet and the tower are situated in Germany. Both buttresses of the border mountain are attractive for tourists, in particular for a beautiful sunrise.

Locality: border with Germany, 1.5 km to the east from Krompach, 4 km to the northeast from Mařenice.
